Forest & Field is a culmination of the two of us. Neither of us wanted a "job" for life. We wanted our jobs to be our life, in a life-giving way. In an ecosystem, the line that separates Forest and Field is the most productive area in nature. This is where two ecosystems meet. We are those two ecosystems, and together we feel like we accomplish way more than apart.
I am a creative, emotional soul who seeks liberation for myself and everyone I come in contact with. I never wanted a "normal" life. I wanted a life filled with passion, risk and deep care. I was fortunate to meet my husband, Johnny, at 18 years of age and marry him 2 years later. He is also a liberator, full of passion and someone who constantly spurs me on toward love and good works.
While we currently live in Portland, Oregon with our two kitties, Dorothy and Owen, as well as our Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Pino and Nira, we are headed to the country. Earlier this year we purchased 20 acres of raw land to create a space of healing.
You may wonder what it is we actually do. I've been searching for that answer for a long time and have come back to where I started. My goal is to be an advocate for change, inspiring others to take control of their mental and physical health. I have 2 years of Herbal Medicine schooling under my belt and I am a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. On top of that I am on my way to becoming a certified Strategic Intervention Coach. I also offer my creative skills in the form of floral design for weddings and events, which I've been doing for over 7 years with a focus on local and foraged arrangements that are made with intention beyond design. My husband, Johnny, also carries with him an abundance of skills to offer. He just recently became a real estate agent so he can help others in their process of buying land and making a home. In the future we will be adding his other skills to the mix such as woodworking, farming, teaching and coaching.
This will also be a place we share our thoughts and updates on our coming adventures in the Journal and upcoming nutrition, herb and foraging workshops.
Pleased to meet you.
